Robin Canham, Owner and Principal Conservator

Robin is a graduate of the Master of Art Conservation program at Queen’s University where she specialized in the conservation of works of art on paper, archival documents, photographs, and new media. She also holds a Master of Information Studies, with a focus in Library Studies, from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Arts (English) from the University of Regina.

Robin has worked in conservation labs at the Royal Saskatchewan Museum, MacKenzie Art Gallery, Provincial Archives of Alberta, Queen’s University Archives, and held a Kress Fellowship in Conservation at the Queen’s University Library, W.D. Jordan Rare Books and Special Collections. Prior to her career in conservation, she spent over a decade as an academic librarian, specializing in online library systems and electronic resources.

An active member of several professional organizations, Robin is involved with the Canadian Association for Conservation of Cultural Property (CAC-ACCR), Canadian Bookbinders and Book Artists Guild (CBBAG), Heritage Regina, Prairie Art Network (PAN), Saskatchewan Library Association (SLA), and Women Entrepreneurs of Saskatchewan (WESK).

In 2025, she began teaching in the Department of History at the University of Regina as a sessional lecturer. She teaches HIST 397: Workshop in Historical Artifact Conservation, one of a handful of undergraduate courses in art conservation in Canada. Robin was awarded the Emerging Conservator of the Year Award by CAC-ACCR in 2023, and in 2021 received a Canada Graduate Scholarship for her research on nanocellulose in paper conservation. From supervising supply inventories, enforcing snack breaks, and naps under the finishing press, Jasper ensures all lab activities run smoothly. With a talent for boosting team morale, Jasper brings a calm and thoughtful presence to the lab, often observing treatments with quiet curiosity. His expertise in paper shredding is unmatched, though he’s kindly reminded to leave conservation work to the humans.

Jasper is happy to consult with clients bearing dried apples. A true professional, Jasper keeps the lab hopping.
